Update Piney woods Report

Went back out with Brandon and Travis to pick up one more gamecam. We have just came back and I decided to make this small report because of some strange things has happen there and back. Frist Travis stopped suddenly, something got his attention for a few seconds and as we were all feeling watched he reported to us a  black ape like critter watching us. this is what he said he saw.

As he looked to the side he saw a black-haired ape about our size looking at us. So we tried to track this area and found no tracks. But the ground was hard iron clay here and though we found disturb ground no good tracks. However a strong smell was in the air. After this we  walked to the river  to pick up our other gamecam. As we walked we watched our back trail and the woods around us.

We made our way back down the pipeline from the river we found that a large stick had been stuck in the ground. It was not there when we came in and it was right where we would not miss it

These kind of things is what makes you want to do this field work. It makes you want to know what is turely out there even if it is a glimpse of something that leaves you wondering if you really saw that,or question what has the power to shove a large stick into hard packed ground.

Field Report : Piney Woods Up Date

Brandon and I went to check the gamecams and found that they had no pics this week. it was disappointing, But we did have answers to calls we made and we keep smelling a musky sent to the air. This is normal when the bid guy is around. We also had heavy movement in the brush around us. We are moving the cams to new places going in closer to the  river. Our group will start a sound campain with voice recorders and new trapcams that record sound on video mode.

We hope to make a good sound and video library, that will help us at lest find who and what keeps messing with the gamecams. At the very lest we can have this documented in a way that we might hear any sound this critter makes while messing with the gamecams. I’m sure in my mind what it is but sound will help with that assumption that it is the big man, and not some dumbass have fun with us.

Stubblefield Report

Brandon and I were in Lake Stubblefield tracking the dry areas around the lake and islands, left dry by our long hot, dry summer.

We had found an old beaver house and dam that was now on dry land , and spent some time there looking it over. We discovered a creek running out of a swampy area to the big lake and being to follow it. The creek began to get wider and about half way to the swamp we got excited  because

we found tracks and what ever was making them had jumped over the creek and left good toe marks. We followed the tracks and they went in to the water and swamp. Well I didn’t want to go into the water and mud and it was also getting close to dark.

We were driving out and found that TPW had cut a new road in an area we use to need the ATVs to get in, and we decided to drive the road to its end. We parked and were able to walk right to the ATV trail. It was nice out there and evening was coming on. You could smell honeysuckle and other flowers. The air here was sweet and the evening was cool. It was a great time to be in the woods, so we walked a while down the ATV trail. It had turned to-night and it was very quite on the trail. Brandon pointed at something in the woods that look vary much like large tracks and we found serval of them in the pine matt that made up the forest floor. It was decided that Travis and I would come back the next day because Brandon would be at work.

Travis and I got out there around noon. We started down the trail and stopped to look at a huge tall pine. You don’t see many like this one anymore . Well we went on and were about 100 yards from the truck when we began hearing wood knocks coming from where we parked. So we went back that way. When we got to the big pine we had stopped to look at there was a long pice of fence post leaning up agant it and we stared for a minute. That old pice of fence post, just was not there when we stopped to look at that tree. Well things like this don’t happen but it did. I don’t mine telling anyone that I was both sacred and amazed at the same time. God I just love doing this stuff.

Field Reports And gamecams

I want to talk about the impotence of field reports today. It is a part of being in the field. You need to report everything in a notebook, here are

some subjects that might help: what did I see? what did I here? what did i do? If you found foot prints you should try to cast them and take a GPS reading and write the numbers in the top of each cast, plus where it was found. Like what is the forest name, write that on the top too. AND  be sure you write everything in your notebook, you can put it on your computer later, or just save your note books so you can go back over it when needed. You can also write down what the area looks like that you are in. If you had a sighting be sure to add this and or any thing you feel was strange and member the GPS readings so you can go back to the same spot it happened in.

Track this area and try to track where the foot prints you found are going. Look for hair on the trees it passed and check the whole area for any thing out-of-place, Take photos of your tracks or anything else you find.

Ok now  That you have done all this, you have readings to follow back and set up your gamecams. And you have notes you can fall back on. Gamecams as a whole are good and bad.  There are good ones that cost and there are bad ones that don’t last long. We never have last over a year are two, so we buy the cheap to the middle prise range, in other words 100 to 200 dollars range this is because we will l all most always have some torn off trees and never seen again. They also brake. But as a rule we buy the ones that will do video as well. I like to buy from sportsman Guide, it’s on the net. I hope this might help any one who wants to look for the Big Man of The Woods. rember comments are always welcome.

Piney Woods Update

Well the mystery is not yet solved. however we are getting closer to solving it and today field researchers Lupe and Filipe had a great sighting and all were startled by loud calls close to them. Also they were followed by something large and heavy moving with them in the brush.

We had set up cams to face each other so we could see the critter that was messing with the trail cam, and get this, one photo only one!

This is one smart critter and I take my hat off to him. It has out smarted us again, but it has left us a sign. Foot prints nice and deep and wide, so we can now make a guess as to what this critter is. WIth the sightings and the loud calls and foot prints it is the opinion of all four researchers it is no other than a texas Sasquatch.

However we are now going to try to out smart him and get his photo one way are another. Maybe we will put out a few apples and see if we can out smart his tastbuds. But as a rule I dont put food out for them though this time I thank we mite, I,ll talk to the guys and see what they thank of this approuch. And maybe something that lights up when tuched. Well we will thank of something.Got to get us a photo so if anyone can thank of a good bait let me know in comments.

Mystery In The Piney Woods Update

Well we are leaving our gamecams for one more week, than we will move some of them in deeper saturday. Lupe, Brandon, and two new member will tackle this new undertaking. We have so much ground to cover in this section, about thereunder square miles.

that’s why we are trying to put together a new team to help cover this area. We also have many larger areas than this that we will be moving into in a few months so a bigger team is needed. For any of you texas boys who thank they might want to try this out just tell me in comments

and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Keep in mind that this is not a trail hick, we go into the deep woods off the trails and its hot work in the summer time. We need good hardy souls to do this.  We are also planning some night work now that we have one full team.

This is a great spot to do field work, there are a lot of reported sighting here and I hope something good come out of our hard work.

Let us know if you have a report to share you can do it here, and I will be glad to talk to you,

Thanks Bob

Piney Woods Field notes 2

What gets to me about this area is the fact that it is over run by texas rooters. The gamecams are on a trial where there are hundreds of hog   tracks. We should be getting pics of a lot of hogs, but there is not a one in our pics which is very  strange. We don’t even have a deer or bobcat. Not one little critter is in our pics, Thats just not right for an area where 600 hogs were rounded up and taken out just a few years ago.

But we have a stick moving up and down in front of the cams making them go off. We put our gamecams six feet off the ground and sometimes we will hang them horoznaly from a high limb. There is onehunderdthousnd acres here and it is remote. There is very few people who will come out in this area and many people have gone missing through the years.

The Lone Star hiking Trail runs through this area, and there is a lot of reported bigfoot sightings here also. Texas is number ten for bigfoot sightings in the country, a lot of people don’t know that. In the spring when small trees are just starting to grow you can find that they have

been dug up and the tender roots have been eaten. This is not done by hogs, hogs push and dig with their noses. these have been dug up with fingers and you can see the finger marks and the marks left by long fingernails. Do I thank this is a texas Sasquatch? Yes I do. We have found tracks here too, and we have come across a hole dug out of the side of a dry creek with large logs placed over the hole. We moved the logs and discovered nuts and wild plums and some raw meat had been place inside. Putting the logs back, we went to the truck to get a gamecam to place on a tree near the creek. when we got back the logs were moved and only the nuts remained. We placed the gamecam but found only hog and deer in the pics. I belive that Sasquatch is hard to photograph because he can smell where we have been in his neck of the woods and he will simply go around are in our case poked at the gamecams to see what we put on the trees.
