Just resting on The Trail

Well I just broke out of the forest on to a forest road. I been walking for close to three hours, and I am totally  pooped out. It was a nice morning and a cool wind was blowing through the trees. But its hot now and the wind has gone.

The forest has been quite and has not given up any of its secrets. But that’s ok she can keep them. Because  you can’t force them out of her anyway. She only gives them up when she’s ready.

I was going cross country, staying off the trails is the only good way to do real field work. But all this cross country is getting hard for this old man.lol I miss the mountains more and more with every East Texas summer.

The boys are up ahead some where maybe a mile or two. I like to move slow through the forest and study every bush and  the ground, even the tree can tell you what has passed this way or that. But all I find are hog and deer tracks and tracks from one of our big cats which is always exciting.

O lord that cool wind has come back, and I thank I am going to set down and cool off a while. My old pup Toby thanks that’s a very good ideal.

Those boys of mine keep telling me I need to just run the base camp and leave the tracking to them. Well I hope a sasquatch whacks them both with a stick.lol

O I just thought  of something, I am really not to far from where that happened to me. Just about four miles maybe. Ill add the video to my blog. And one I made while resting here.005006

Sasquatch And Hogs Field Report 1

I have been putting some of my older field report on my blog. I have notebooks from the 1970s to today. Most of these reports are uneventful, and were just a record of my daily life in the high lonely of Colorado.I wrote them for my children and my grand’s to read one day. But It  became a habit to sit down by my fire in the evenings and write down events from my day.

In the spring of 2001 Travis and I had heard of an old church park that had been bought up by the state and was now open to the public. The park was around fivethousnd acres with a large creek that empty’s into lake Houston. It turned out to be a wonderful park with just enough remoteness to hold our interest.

We had a choice of camping areas. From unimproved to a little

better. We chose the little better and set up camp right on the bend of the creek. there were some other campers in this area and everyone was friendly.

We went down the creek walking along its banks and in the creek itself due to shallow areas. There were a lot of wildlife here due to no hunting. Deer, hogs, bobcats and all the little critters you could want. O and that wonderful spring time breeze was bringing out all those sweet forest smells. And there were Hugh patches of wild onions to my delight. I love wild onions, and I picked enough to put in my famous camp chili.

We weren’t out there for field work. WE were just on a camping trip and we were having fun making all these new discoveries.

Well we had walked about four miles and we started back along the main trail. It was close to dark so I set about cooking and the few campers beside us were all doing the same.

At about nine people were washing up dishes and kids were playing with flashlights. We could hear the soft murmur of voices from the other campers. It was just the close of a wonderful day.

Well it came with the first squalls’ for some pigs on the other side of the creek. Than came the grunts and screams, and that smell! Travis looked over at me and he was grinning. This turned out to be a great surprise, and learning experience.

The Big man was hunting hogs! lord! it was so loud. The hogs would scream bloody murder and the big guy would scream right back. We could hear a load crash  now and then and we knew what it was. It was a very large pine tree that had been cut down for one reason are an other and the big guy was using this as a weapon!.

They were herding these hogs one way and turning them   back pass this tree. When the hogs got in range they would throw this tree on top of them.

The night was so dark all we could make out were shadows running back and forth and that big pine tree going up in the air! It was so assume and scary and so brutal, all at the same time.

You could go in the field all your life and never see such a thing. Than to have this happen by chance. It taught us a lot about Sasquatch that night, lessons we wont forget.

O and if you 01_previewwant to know how lakehoustonpicthe other campers took all this, lake_houston13-lgwell when it was over we stood alone in the campground.

Big Creek Report 1

Big Creek is a game preserve and bird watching area near Cold springs Texas. Over the years It has given up tracks and sounds and sighting to many field researchers.

This is also a good area for those who are new to  field work. It has shorter trails that will take you into the deep forest or you can walk the five miles to Double lake and do some camping there and along the way.

Brandon and I were out there mapping likely camping spots for a week we were planning to spend out there. And just doing some general tracking and listening.

It was quite but for a small wind making the leaves dance on the trees. We could hear a few birds and something moreing in the creek. I was hoping it was an otter, because we hadn’t seen there tracks for a couple years now.

We headed back towards the trailhead and parking lot. We wanted to check some other places for tracks.

Driving down the forest road we came to where the Lone Star Trail crosses and I was watching between the trees. I must have said something like. Well I won’t repeat it, but Brandon pull up fast and just like it was my first time out, all I could say was there! there!.

I was very excited because this was my first one on one sighting in a long time. O we have found tracks and smelled them. We have been screamed at. But this was the first I am looking at you and your looking at me in a very long time.

Well we started down the trail right behind it and lost him. I was looking for sign and listening. Brandon was so excited he couldn’t keep the handycam still. We wanted to get it on video badly.

This bigfoot was very large at lest eight foot. He was coal black and had hair on its face from the eyes down and very large muscles . Its head was big and it had a wide mouth. The eyes were big and brown and the whites had a bit of a darker hue .

I am going to try and put a link to video on here because it really tells the whole story better. Here are a few stills taken from the Photo_C194C1A3-C328-2C5B-AE92-2F2EAF1A46A8video.SC20120522-195840SC20120522-200142http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H7Qux6Ea8M&feature=plcp

Does Sasquatch Use Infrasound

Infrasound is something I know a little bet about, and when I heard Guy Edwards talking about it on the podcast, I began to thank back to some strange exspaernces that Brandon and I have had in the past. But I will get to that a little later.

Infrasound is on the lowest end of the sound frequency but that does not mean that it cant be as loud as say a blast from a loudspeaker. It can do some damage to your body and the effects can last for hours or days and even months or you might not get over it at all. Just because you can’t hear it doesn’t mean it’s not real.

On a sound frequency of 0.001Hz to 40Hz These sound waves can cause many different effects. Like did you know that your eyes resonates at around 18Hz in your eye socket. This is how you see, but if you are being hit with Infrasound waves of say 19Hz your eyes speed up and you began to see things out of the corner of your eyes that are not there. I would think this can put a little fear in you.

These low sound waves can also be used as a weapon . Here is a list of what can happen to you when these wave wash over and through you for long and short peresds of time. You will see things that aren’t there, you can be frozen with fear, become confused and lose your way, panic attacks, nevus, crazy with fear, exhaustion, tiredness, passing out. sick to the stomach. suddenly finding your self in the wrong area. This list can go on and on.

Infrasound can be found in the natural world around us and many household appances can produce small amounts in our homes

Animals can produce Infrasound as well such as Elephants and rhino’s and whales. There are birds in  Papua New Guiney and Australia that also produce these sound waves. The waves of the sea can produce them,a airplane and meteors  underground streams can also. Earthquakes, valcanenos. and even a car.

Oh but can a quatch produce and use Infrasound on us and animals in the forest. I just don’t know. I guess it is possible but I hope not!

Listening to Guy talk I began to thank back on some things that Brandon and I have had happen to us that we could not explain.

Brandon and I were working and tracking in The Sam Houston forest when we split up. I was putting water in a dry box,and Brandon went to check a gamecam about 600 yards down a dry creek bed which should have taken him strait to the cam. But it was taking him a lot longer than it should have.About two hours had passed when I heard way in the distance Brandon calling dad ,dad. Well I didn’t know what to thank about this but he sounded upset. So I called back to him and he finally called back to me.

Now Brandon doesn’t normally get lost and it was a strait shot down the creek bed and back. But he sounded deep in the forest. Well he shouted back that he cant find the creek, he said it was just gone. Well I got my compass out and had him shout a few times and tried to take a reading from the sound. I told him to get his out and come due south, and waited to hear him coming but there was no sound.

Hell he went north! That boy has been using a compass, well before he could read and he had a GPS in his pack, what the hell was he doing.O well after a lot of shouting back and fourth I could see him. he was going right past me!, what was going on with him?I went out to get him but he heard me coming and started to me.

he set down in the dry creek and so I set down to and just waited for him to talk. All he could say was the creek just went away dad it just went away.I didn’t know what to make of it and said tell me what you member. Well he Started telling me that there was a bigfoot and than he was lost in the deep woods and could not find the creek anymore.

Well he keep rubbing his head saying the creek just went away. All he could do was yell dad. That boy was lost with a compass and GPS. To this day he is still confused about what happen.

I read a lot of old Indian history and I membered reading something that was written in1916. This is an account told to L.V Wharton by a Yakama Indian by the name of Simon Goudy. This story has to do with forest giants call the stick people.

When a person is on the forest trails at night one might hear a sound like a whistle coming from in front of him and might here it many times and if he turns around he will than hear it in front and behind him. He may become crazed and tried and fall asleep along the trail. He could also be killed.

I do think we should look in to this. While we are in the field, but buying a Infrasound detector cost more than I can spend. However you can make one but it does take some know how to do this.

On The Islands in 2010

We start working on some islands in the cooler months. they are on the west end of lake conroe. The river also flows in here and the whole place is like going back in time. There are many channels to explore and we have been in a lot of them.

This is the same area where TPW took a  23 foot alligator from one year. But there are some 18 footers in here still. We had a fourteen footer fellow behind us once. I know how big it was because our canoe was 12 feet and it was longer.

Well  we would bring in all our equipment and a tent food and water and firewood in a couple of trips. It is about a mile round trip from the boat ramp and the island. One reason we started doing field work the on islands is that Brandon had visit while he and some friends were out on them night fishing, and Travis and I found some tracks with hog hunting. It didn’t take long for us to realise that BigFoot was hunting the Islands too.

Well we unloaded and put up our tent and layed out a fire for the night. We also put up trapcams around the island. Man there was hog sign everywhere and deer too. Travis and I made plans to hunt in here in the colder months.

We put our camp chairs out and set down now that the work was done and was listening to the quite that was broken by the sound of a boat motor now and then. The day had been hot, but a cool wind was coming in over the island and we knew it would be chilly tonight.

You could smell the fishy smell of the water and hear things walking out on the island. It was growing late in the after noon and we could see hogs already starting to come out of the forest and start their swim to the islands. We were amazed at their size and by full dark they made it to  our island. They were coming on the island behind us and they knew we were there. We heard one scream bloody murder out in the water and knew a gator just got dinner. Lord it was a wicked sound hearing all the water turning up and that pig screaming.

Brandon got up without a word and lite the fire and we would have teased him but we were glad to see those flames and the light it brought. Hell there were hogs right behind us and who knew what else.

Later we could hear what sounded like our bouts being knocked around and something on two legs moving in the water and coming up real close to us. I unsnaped my holster and we sat very quite and still. hoping the trapcams were doing their job.  And suddenly the night just got so quite. Brandon got up and put more wood on the fire.

Off on the island to the front of us came suddenly the sounds we were hoping to hear, a load scream and then what I call monkey grunts.Man that can sure get to a person in the middle of nowhere.

After all that it was quite for a long while until we heard the screams coming from out of the forest this time. Some people in a boat started up there motor and left at high-speed. The rest of the night was hogs and deer and strange sound from over the lake.

I was glad to see the sun come up and we found that our boats had been thrown up on the island. We broke camp and was glad to be in the truck going home. and we had lots of evidence to go over anyway we told each other.lol
